Gloria Jean Sobel-Casero

April 13, 1945 - December 10, 2025

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was first and foremost an animal lover, a responsible breeder, and a passionate advocate for excellence and integrity in the sport she loved.

Her greatest joy came from the dog show ring—watching generations from her breeding and bloodlines, Boxers and Great Danes, proudly represent the highest standards of quality. Nothing made her prouder than seeing her children and grandchildren grow within the sport and appreciate the legacy she built. She beamed with pride as her daughter, Elizabeth, took the baton—excelling as a respected handler and breeder, with the promise of one day becoming a judge—surpassing even her mother’s wildest dreams.

Before her life with dogs, she was a champion equestrian, riding horses competitively as a child and young woman before “downsizing” to the canine version of her passion. Animals were always her heart—she often joked that she loved them more than people, and she never pretended otherwise.

She was also an avid golfer, living much of her life among country clubs and equestrian parks. She learned the game at a young age from her father, a golf professional who went on to teach some of the elite and best in the sport.

A true trailblazer, she owned and operated multiple businesses at a time when women were not expected to do so. She stood toe-to-toe with anyone, never backed down, and always held her ground. She was strong, unique, unforgettable—and she made sure of it.

She loved life’s thrills: never missing a chance to play the lottery, always planning ahead for the winnings. She enjoyed playing cards at the casino and was good at it, embracing the shows, perks, and excitement that came with being a high roller.

A loyal fan of the Miami Dolphins, she was there to witness their historic 17–0 season, a moment she cherished.

She preferred not to drive, instead relying on her ever-ready “standby chauffeur,” arriving everywhere in her own unmistakable style.

In life, as in her final days, she fought hard—with determination, strength, and grace—until the very end.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Sobel and Marie and Charles Ferderman; her parents, Ross and Gloria Sobel; and her beloved sister, Lucille Grace and her fur babies.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Casero; her children, Katherine Bach, Ross Moyers, and Elizabeth Barnhart Nasto; and her cherished grandchildren, Krystall Bach, Matthew Moyers, Alexander Bach, Patrick Nasto, Camron Moyers, Zackery Moyers, and Victoria DiSorbo.

She is also survived by her granddaughter-in-law, Daisy Nasto, and her beloved fur baby, Georgie.
