Aristides Lima

September 3, 1938 - December 5, 2024

Aristides Lima, 86, of Miami, passed away December 5, 2024. Loving husband of 63 years to Alicia Matilde Lima (1939 – 2023). Aristides (Art) was a beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.

Aristides was born September 3, 1938 in Havana, Cuba to Aristides & Vertudes Lima-Miranda. He often shared fond memories growing up in Havana, celebrating and enjoying the gifts of the island, primarily the ocean, riding horses and the night life, with family and friends. Having attended Valley Forge Summer Camp and later enrolling at the University of Pittsburg, he was introduced to his soon to be adoptive new country, the United States of America, that he appreciated and loved beyond measure. His collegiate studies were cut short, needing to return to the island and help his family through the challenges of political change and turmoil. Not too long after his return he emigrated to the United States in 1960. Settling in the United States, he leveraged his inherited work ethic and dedication to family. He worked multiple jobs eventually establishing a career in sales with Sears & Roebuck where he worked for over 30 years. Aristides seized the American dream, raised a loving family, and always espoused the values of faith, family and freedom with honor and integrity.

Aristides is survived by his sister Graciela Del Monte; his children, daughter Alicia Maria (husband Kenneth); son Aristides (Ari) III (wife Carmen); son Alejandro (wife Sylvia); grandchildren Albert, David, Maria, Ari, Anthony, Cecilia and Alex; and great grandchildren Alexandra, Katherine, Kenny and Josephine.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, December 19th, 11:00 AM at Nativity Catholic Church followed by entombment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Miami.
