Joan Thomas

February 13, 1942 - December 6, 2024

Joan Thomas, born on February 13, 1942, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Thomas and her parents John and Ruth Hodge. Joan is survived by her daughter Lori L. Stenhouse; grandsons James R. Stenhouse and Josh A. Stenhouse (Caroline); great-grandsons Hayden R. Stenhouse and Owen L. Stenhouse; sisters Carole Bremigan and Terry Roman (Mike); sister-in-law Joy Cilurso; nieces Kim Justis, Hayley Andrien, and Carly Roman; nephews John Bremigan and Mike Cilurso (Erika); and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-Great-nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Brookfield High School, Joan was a talented baton majorette and later co-owned a bookstore with her husband in Hollywood. She worked at American Express until her retirement. Joan will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who remember her as a funny, outgoing, and loving person and for her love of animals.

The family extends its special gratitude to Diane Poole and Peggy Curtin for their assistance with the arrangements.

Celebration of life for Joan Thomas is on December 28th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Banquet Hall, 9000 SW 50th Place in Cooper City.
