Avon Royer

It’s with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Avon Emile Royer also known as Teacher Avon, of Coton, Commonwealth of Dominica who resided in Hallandale Beach, Florida. He passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2026 at the age of 81.

Avon Emile Royer was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, educator, and community leader. Beyond his distinguished service as a teacher and principal, Avon remained deeply committed to national and community development throughout his life. He was an active and dedicated member of the Roseau Credit Union League, where he continued to give generously of his time, wisdom, and leadership. He was also a familiar and respected voice on the airwaves of DBS Radio, Kairi FM, and Radio En ba Mango.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2026, 2:00 - 6:00pm at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL  33021
