Betty Jean (Rolff) McPherson, age 93, died peacefully on March 11, 2023 in Hollywood, Florida. She was surrounded by her loving daughters Carol (Jeffery) Hill of Hollywood, FL, Robin Farr of Matamoras, PA, Sandra (Larry) Kuffel of Bayside, WI and Nancy (Alan) Bradford of Ft. Myers, FL. Also left with precious memories are her step-daughter Beth (Kelly) Crissman, eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, as well as nine nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Barbara Osekavage and brother Thomas Richardson.
Betty was born on July 17, 1929 to John and Grace (Bogardus) Richardson in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated salutatorian of her East Rockaway High School class and completed two years of nursing school before she and Bill were married and started their family.
Betty was employed for 22 years with the United States Postal Service, most of those years as postmaster at Huguenot, NY. During those years the family enjoyed living at the YMCA Camps where Bill was employed as superintendent of maintenance. After she retired, she was an active and dedicated member of the Cummings Memorial Church in Horse Shoe, NC and also volunteered for her local Bear Closet and Linus organizations. She had many favorite past times – reading, sewing, gardening, knitting and later birdwatching from the kitchen window of her Etowah, NC home.
In Betty’s own words…”I’ve tried to be kind to everyone but if I have ever hurt someone unknowingly, please forgive me. I hope you remember me with joy, because I really was a happy person.”
There will be a memorial service on Friday, March 24
th
at 11am at Park Road Presbyterian Church, 500 North Park Road, Hollywood, FL 33021, with a repast immediately following. Plans are also being made for interment of the ashes of Betty and William Rolff at the Westbrookville Cemetery, Westbrookville, NY 12785 in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to Cummings Memorial Church, P.O. 759, Horse Shoe, NC 28742, Park Road Presbyterian Church or an organization close to your heart.

Barbara J. Gesino of Hollywood, FL, passed away peacefully Saturday morning March 1, 2025 at Memorial Regional Hospital. Barbara was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and at the age of 15 moved to Hollywood with her parents and brother Charles. She is survived by niece Linda (Michael) Scarcella; sister-in-law Helen Gesino; grand nieces and nephews Amy, Kylene (Amado), Dominick (Zahra) and Mike (Megan) and great grand nieces and nephews Anthony, Julian, Haleigh, Sophie, Jackson and Nico. A graduate of South Broward High School in 1956. In 1958 was employed by the City of Hollywood as Administrative Secretary to both the building official and City Engineer, for 33 years, retiring at the age of 52. She went into the travel business as a travel consultant for 12 years at Circle Travel . She felt blessed to be able to travel the world which was a passion of hers. Barbara had previously been the president of the Fla. Woman in Government, past president of the Italian American Woman’s club and Secretary of X-dividends Investments club. In 1975 she received a proclamation from the mayor , proclaiming June 6, 1980 as Barbara Gesino Day. Barbara enjoyed life to the fullest . She was interviewed by her dear friends daughter Eve Bergman, who she adored for a book she wrote based on her documentary film, “Lives well lived” . Her motto was, ”I’ve been given all these days and years, which I’ve embraced because I see life as incredibly precious. I hardly ever say “no” to anything, I just make sure everyday was filled with Joy, purpose and meaning". Our Aunt Barbara’s Spirit, sense of humor and how much she loved and cared for her family and friends with so many wonderful memories will remain in our hearts and she will always be with us. Visitation will be Friday, March 7th, 11:00am - 2:00pm with a prayer service at 1:00pm all at Landmark Funeral Home, followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens East.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eshang Phen, who left us peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 85, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Eshang is survived by her beloved children, Teresa, Michael, Robert and Catherine; her 11 grandchildren; her 4 half-siblings; and extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Eshang is preceded in death by her parents, Chin Thung and Cheshao; her husband, Yo Hai; her children, Patrick and Peter; and her half-brother, Yuan Chang.
Eshang was born on October 1, 1939 in Hubei, China and immigrated to Calcutta, India when she was a child. Eshang later moved to Karachi, Pakistan, married Yo Hai and welcomed six children into their home. Together, they owned a dentist clinic. After Yo Hai’s passing, Eshang raised her children as a single mother while continuing to operate the dentist clinic with her eldest son, Michael. Eshang moved to the United States in 1988 and lived in Long Island, NY and Florida until her passing.
