CLAIRE M. DES MEULES, 96, our precious and beloved mother and grandmother of Coconut Creek, entered her heavenly home on May 5, 2023. Born December 5, 1926 to Louis and Aurelie (Bernier) Gagne of Manchester, New Hampshire, Claire followed her devout catholic upbringing and Christian faith throughout her life. Her peaceful demeanor did not hide her inner strength and character. Her family members, as well as her church family, could always count on Claire’s help and prayers. She relocated to Florida in the 70’s and loved spending time at the beach and playing her favorite game of Skip Bo with the grandchildren. Until the age of 93, Claire happily worked as a school crossing guard, adored by all the children. Preceded in death by her husband Roger, sons Charles and Guy, she is survived by her children Gloria (Russ) Zela, Marguerite Martin, Denise Loftus, Lucie Masi, David (Elizabeth) and John, 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, May 19, at Nativity Catholic Church, 5220 Johnson Street, Hollywood. Inurnment will take place Monday, May 22, at 11:00 am in Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
