David Octavio Lopez-Diaz, affectionately known as “Tavito” or simply “David,” passed away in Hollywood, Florida. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and carried the bold, vibrant spirit of his homeland throughout his life.


David was known for his strong character and unwavering presence. He was a man who couldn’t be easily swayed — someone who stood firm in what he believed and lived with purpose. He found joy in Salsa music, pride in his Puerto Rican roots, and fulfillment as a business owner, running his own lawn care service with hard work and determination.


He was a man of faith, involved in his local Seventh-day Adventist church, where he found both fellowship and meaning.


David is survived by his daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, all of whom he loved deeply. He also leaves behind a sister and brother who held a special place in his heart. In addition, he is remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews, who will forever carry his memory with love and pride.


He will be remembered for his strength, his sense of pride, his deep ties to family, and the music and faith that shaped his life.


Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Landmark Funeral Home.

Joan Lee Scheidell, 85, of Hollywood passed away June 13, 2025. Survived by sons Mark (Jeanne) Kovacs and Michael (Maria) Kovacs; daughters Suzanne (Joe) Domenech and Denise (Jim) Ordonez; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be private.
