Gloria Ann Collier

February 12, 1932 - January 7, 2023

Gloria Ann Collier, 90, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2023, in Hollywood, FL, just 36 days shy of her 91 st birthday. Born to Frank and Ana Chuckran. Gloria is survived by 5 of her 6 children Shane, Matthew, Kevin, Kathleen and Nancy; brother Thomas along with 8 of 9 grandchildren, Grant, Natalie, Patrick, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Sean, Sarah, and Samuel, as well as, 5 great grandchildren, Mason, Juno, Theodore, Kane and Lyra. Not to be forgotten, she also is survived by her four-legged grandchild, Shadow, who she often slipped treats to. Later wondering why he followed her all around the house.
She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Frank; son, Robert; granddaughter, Jade and brother, Marty.
Gloria grew up in Lansford, PA., where she attended St. Michaels Catholic Church and still kept in touch with schoolmates from her graduating class. She worked as a Manager in Dolly Madison for many years before moving to Hollywood with her family in 1971, where she became a Travel Agent. After retiring, she proudly worked for Publix for over 23 years as a cashier and bakery clerk, where she was endearingly referred to as "Grandma'. She inspired many that knew her, as she continued to work and until she was 89. Her advice, “Don’t ever retire and keep moving”. She endured many challenges which made her into the feisty, headstrong woman loved ones knew her for. Gloria was an avid reader, liked watching detective shows and never refused a game of rummy, especially with her grandkids. She also loved listening to music and not quietly, usually full blast in her car. Her top favorites were Nat King-Cole and The Rolling Stones, of which she saw both in person. A good day didn't go by without her Coca-Cola or Sprite. She said an once a day was all she needed to get her through a day. She was 100% Slovak and proudly passed on many of the traditional foods that will be remembered and enjoyed for generations to come. She will be an unforgettable force to those that knew and loved her.
Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, April 20 th , 6:00pm – 7:00pm with a Celebration Life Service at 7:00pm all at Landmark Funeral Home.
