Ivonne Ramirez

Ivonne Ramirez, 83 of Aventura, FL passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in 1961 so her late husband could pursue his medical profession. They lived and raised their 3 children in New York, New Jersey and finally retiring to Aventura, FL.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Gonzalo Antonio in 2013, son Luis Gonzalo 2014 and her brother Javier Arturo Frometa in 2015 as well as her parents Teresa Antun and Fernando Frometa.
Ivonne is survived by her daughter Yvonne Ramirez-Rivera and son Rafael Fernando Ramirez. She was the loving grandmother or as they would call her “MANA” to William Rivera, Ricky Rivera and Kathryn Scartelli, Stephanie and Robert Halbert, Raymond, Anne Marie, Kevin, Casey and Emily Ramirez. She also had four great-grandchildren Dylan and Dominic Halbert and Alexander and Arianna Rivera.
She also had a very special place in her heart for Rafael “Tetelo” and Chabela Bisono, her nephew Javier Emilio Frometa and daughters in law Cruz Ana and Sarah Ramirez.
She will also be missed by many other cousins, friends, neighbors who all have a special story and place in their heart for her.
Ivonne was a full time mom and housewife who loved to cook and spend time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and desserts for her family and friends. Saying that she was an amazing cook is an understatement. There was always food prepared for anyone who arrived in her home.
Family and friends may attend a small gathering on Tuesday, September 19th from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood FL, 33021.
