Joseph Sardo

May 5, 1935 - November 30, 2022

JOSEPH SARDO, 87, of Plantation, passed away November 30, 2022. Born May 5, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to Guissipe and Rose DeLuca Sardo, he grew to be a gentleman of great faith and always lent a helping hand to those less fortunate. Joseph was proud of his Sicilian/ Italian heritage and loved to cook.
He was an active member and usher at St. David Catholic Church; was the president of the Italian American Civic League of Broward for seven years; a Grand Knight of the 4 ^th degree of the Knights of Columbus, served as an officer for the Broward Council of Italian American Club, the Florida Federal Italian American Club and in the Life After 50 at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Survived by sons Joseph, John and Vincent (Betty) Sardo, daughters Rose Ellen Sardo and Mariane (John) Simmons, sister Rose Marie Sardo, six grandchildren: Malisa Simmons, Daniel (Malena) Sardo, Michael (Kristin) Sardo, Teresa Sardo, Victoria (Michael) Keene and Olivia Sardo and six great grandchildren: Andrew, Adrianna and Abagil Keene and Zane, Corbin and Paisley Sardo and his companion Mary Antoinette Bober.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, December 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm with a 7:00 prayer service at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Boulevard. Mass is 11:00 am on Monday, December 5, at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 S. University Drive, Davie, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale.
