Patricia M. Calhoun

Author name

August 31, 1931 - October 20, 2022

Patricia “Pat” Mahoney Calhoun, Age 91 of Hollywood Florida, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022 after a joy-filled life shared with her loving husband of 49 years, Taylor “Bud” Calhoun (2002). Having first visited Florida on their honeymoon in 1954, they returned to settle in South Florida, raise their family, and become pillars of the Hollywood, FL community.
Born August 31, 1931 in Worcester Massachusetts, Pat was the daughter of the late James Anthony and Catherine Mahoney. Her four siblings, Sister Cecelia James (SSJ), James Mahoney, Mary McCarthy and Barbara Murphy predeceased her.
She was dearly loved by her 7 children; Mary Anne (Mike), Patricia, Stephen (Cindy), Taylor (Denise), David (2022) + (Kathy), Christine (Steven) and Elizabeth, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Calhoun along with many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her neighbors at North Beach Condominium.
Pat was a long-time member of Annunciation parish. She had a deep commitment to her faith that guided everything she did with her family, friends, church and community. She lived a life of kindness, generosity, and graciousness.  Her gentle and gracious nature was always uplifting and encouraging to those around her. Whether helping children to read or learn to swim, providing food to the unsheltered, visiting the elderly, or volunteering at her church, she found joy in all that surrounded her. She delighted in the wonders of nature and leaves her family with a legacy of deep appreciation of nature's beauty. Whether watching a sunrise or sunset over the ocean, camping, swimming, boating, or seeing a cardinal, we are reminded of her care and respect for all beings and for nature.
“Patsy” (as she was known to family and friends), we will all miss you and you will forever be in our hearts. As you assured us, no matter where we are in the world, “We will all be looking at the same moon”.  God bless.
