Raquel Velasquez, 76, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away on December 26, 2024.

Born on June 20, 1948 in Lima, Peru, she was the daughter of Justina America Velasquez and Hildebrando Velasquez.  Throughout her life, Raquel was known for her strong spirit, compassionate and generous nature, fierce intelligence, and most of all, her dedication to her family and loved ones.

She is survived by her son Sebastian Velasquez; her brothers Rene Lozano, Wilson Lozano, Eric Velasquez, Antonio Velasquez and Alfred Velasquez and her close family.

Raquel devoted her life to focusing on the things that truly mattered.  She diligently worked to open and build a successful fashion and jewelry business, a testament to her hard work, perserverance, and unwavering dedication.  At the same time, she took great pride in caring for her family, always putting others first, with love and selflessness.  Throughout her life, Raquel was committed to learning and growing, continuously furthering her education and seeking new knowledge to enrich her life, and the lives around her.  Her adventurous spirit took her her across the world, where she created unforgettable memories and developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences.  Above all, she was a constant source of love and inspiration, not only for her family but for her friends and everyone fortunate enough to know her.  Her impact, through her achievements and the boundless love she gave, will be felt for generations to come.

A Memorial Service will be held at Landmark Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at noon.  Her favorite flowers were roses; in place of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

She will be deeply missed and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.  Raquel's love, wisdom, and spirit will live on forever in the hearts and minds of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.  Though she is no longer with us in body, her presence will continue to guide and inspire us for generations.  The impact of her life is immeasurable, and her memory will remain an eternal source of strength and love for all who carry her in their hearts.  Amen
