Richard Thompson, Sr.

September 25, 1949 - July 22, 2022

Richard Thompson Sr of Hollywood passed away on July 22, 2022. He was born in Dalton, Georgia and moved to South Florida in 1962. He was a resident of Margate for over 40 years and recently moved to Hollywood to be closer to his family. He was proceeded in death by his son Randall Thompson; his parents Sewell Thompson and Glendora McHan and his sisters Gloria Horton, Jeanette Edmondson, Glenda Haggard, and Deborah Powell. He is survived by his sons Richard Thompson Jr, Ronald (Carrie) Thompson, daughter Rhonda (Marc) Potvin; grandchildren Katrina Thompson, Shayla Thompson, Madisyn Thompson, Mason Potvin, and Jaxson Potvin; great grandchildren Isabella and Naiya Cuadra and siblings Betty (Ray) Scott, Carl (Penny) Thompson, David Thompson, Vicki Love, and Mark Thompson. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 28, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service Thursday evening all at Valerie Panciera’s Landmark Funeral Home.
