Carlo Cattaneo
June 19, 1939 - February 7, 2026

Carlo Cattaneo, 86, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Ameglia, in Italy’s province of La Spezia, he endured the hardships of World War II, which forged the resilience, hard work, discipline, and devotion to family that defined his life.
As a young man, he was an avid cyclist, passionate soccer player, and local boxer. Sports were not just recreation for him, they were an expression of his competitive spirit and strength of character, traits that would follow him throughout his life.
He began his career in hospitality on Italian cruise lines, starting humbly as a busboy and rising through dedication and natural leadership to become a respected Maître d’. Fluent in five languages, he could connect with guests and colleagues from around the world. He commanded a room with quiet confidence and charm, yet always made others feel seen, valued, and special. After establishing residency in the United States, he continued building his remarkable career in New York, Memphis, and Miami where he led the opening of the restaurant at the iconic Carlyle Hotel in South Beach, serving as Head Dining Room Manager. Wherever he worked, he brought elegance, warmth, and an unmistakable presence that made every guest feel like family.
Outside of work, his life revolved around family, food, and golf. He found great joy on the greens of Orangebrook Golf & Country Club, where he cherished time spent with friends under the Florida sun. But perhaps his greatest stage was the kitchen. If you were lucky enough to have a seat at his table, you experienced more than a meal, you experienced love. His bolognese and marinara sauces, chicken cacciatore, and every other dish he prepared carried the heart of Italy and brought smiles to all who gathered around the table.
He was an excellent husband and a devoted father whose guidance, strength, and character will continue to live on through his family. His expressive storytelling made him larger than life, while his kindness and generosity left a lasting impression.
His legacy is one of love, family, tradition, and resiliency. A life well lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo and Livia Cattaneo; his sister, Edina Borghetti; and his brother, Alessandro Cattaneo.
Carlo is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Corinne; his daughter, Corinne Livia; his son, John Carlo and wife Michelle; his brother, Giuseppe Cattaneo; his nephews, Pietro Borghetti, Vincenzo, Don Pietro and Giuseppe Cattaneo, Sean, Brian, and Daniel Kennedy; and his nieces, Lia Cattaneo, Maria Enrica Borghetti, and Laura Skudera.
