Catherine "Cathy" Maher
July 5, 1953 - September 19, 2025
Catherine (Cathy) Maher, age 72, a resident of Pembroke Pines, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born on July 5th, 1953, in Montclair, NJ to Fred and Lillian Triano. She has two sisters, Rita and Irene.
Cathy attended Cedar Ridge high school in Matawan, NJ. where she was a twirler on the cheerleading squad. After allowing her high school sweetheart Michael Maher to chase her, she caught him, and agreed to marry him and they were married on August 11th, 1973. Cathy began her working career at Acme Markets in Sayreville, NJ., eventually working for Revlon Cosmetics.
Upon her marriage, Mike joined the army, and they moved to South Florida where they lived until the end of 1975. They were then stationed at Bitburg, Germany, where she really enjoyed touring Europe with her husband and their newborn son Daniel. After Europe they returned to South Florida where they had two more children Thomas, born October 16, 1980, and Michelle, born June 6th, 1984.
Along with raising her children she was also involved in the founding of the family business Maegher Corp., founded in 1985. Cathy worked until her illness.
Cathy was a caring loving woman who touched many lives and will long be remembered by her loving husband, three children and seven grandchildren, Zackary, Lilian, Thomas Jr, Ryan Maher, Benjamin, Christian and Alexander Milo.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL. from 4-7pm. A Catholic mass will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 10am at Nativity Catholic Church, 5200 Johonson St Hollywood, Fl. Followed by Internment at the South Florida National Cemetery 6501 S state Rd 7. Lake Worth. A reception will immediately follow at her son Daniel's house.
