Cindy Newman

Cindy Michelle Streigold Newman , 61, of Hollywood, Florida, passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.   Cindy was born on January 15, 1962 in Monticello, New York, to her parents Janet and Marvin Streigold. She grew up in Woodbourne, NY with her brother Alan Streigold and moved to Hollywood in 1983.   She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Gary Newman, her daughters Janet and Sarah Newman, her son Preston Newman, her brother Alan Streigold (Maria), her nephew Jared Streigold (Clarissa), her niece Catie Streigold Vasquez (Jordan), her grandnephew Maxwell Vasquez.   Cindy worked nearly 40 years in the Memorial Healthcare System. She was a valued substitute teacher at Hollywood Hills Elementary and Beachside Montessori Village and a dedicated volunteer at the Humane Society of Broward County.   Cindy’s family will be having a Celebration of Life Gathering on Friday, January 5, 2024 between the hours of 4pm-8pm at Landmark Funeral Home (4200 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood FL). Following the services in Florida, a funeral and burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Congregation B’nai Israel in Glen Wild, New York, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.   Cindy’s family would like to thank all of her relatives and friends for their love and support during throughout this difficult time.
