Evelyn Eve Kaplan

Evelyn Eve Kaplan, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away November 5, 2023. Born on April 28, 1930, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania to Ruben and Sonia (Kasansky) Simon, was married to Jerome Elliot Schachne in 1949 and divorced in 1961. Evelyn relocated to Florida in 1959 and married Marvin Kaplan (divorced 1989). She ran a successful temporary secretarial agency-Key Girls in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables from 1968-1980 and then ventured to Orinda, California where she lived from 1980-2001. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, painter and world traveler. Her outgoing and gracious personality led to many friendships during her lifetime, and she was well loved by friends in Walnut Creek, CA, the Hemispheres condominium in Hallandale and Oakmonte Village in Davie where she resided in her final year.
Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, sisters Marion Rosenberg and Dora Schoor and brother William Simon. Survived by her daughter Susan Davis (Scott), son Stanley Schachne (Donna), stepson Daniel Kaplan, grandchildren Danny Davis-Rosato (Anthony), Richard Davis, Leah Davis-Bonsenor (Jorge), Jessica Benson (David), Travis Schachne (Lisa) and four great grandchildren, Elsa Benson, Ian Benson, Lucas Bonsenor and Shay Schachne and loving partner David Simmons.
