Maria Luisa Duyos
March 29, 2023
September 5, 1956 - March 24, 2023
Maria was truly passionate about traveling, just being on the road made her happy. She enjoyed visiting state parks and exploring new cities around the nation in the family’s RV, just as much as she liked cruising on the ocean or flying to exciting new destinations. She was an intelligent, sensitive, and vibrant woman, as well as a remarkable professional, a caring neighbor, and a loyal friend.
Above all, María adored her family. She married the love of her life, Eddie Duyos, in 1989. Eddie helped raise María’s only daughter Mercy, like his own child. Mercy grew up to be a lovely woman, she also married the love of her life and had two beautiful children, Alyssa and Dylan, twins! They became the light of Maria’s life, especially after Mercy passed away in 2016.
María was a devoted mother, a supportive wife, and a caring sister, stepmother, grandmother, and aunt. She passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2023, at the young age of 66, while doing what she loved, cruising the Caribbean with her husband and family. She is missed and will be missed forever. Nevertheless, her legacy of love remains eternally present in the minds and hearts of all who love her.
María Luisa Duyos was born in Cuba, she was a resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and is survived by her husband Eddie Duyos, her grandchildren Alyssa and Dylan Jewett, stepchildren Eduardito Duyos, Shawn Staton, and Cristina Ramirez; step-grandchildren, Gianna, Anthony, Myranda, Jenna, Jordan, Madison, Michael, Giovanni, Julian, Elijah, and Ethan; step-great grandson Bentley; sister Norma Freiria, brother in law Alejandro Freiria and nephews Alexander and Leandro; Sons-in-law Dwight Jewett, Michael Staton, and Javier Ramirez; daughters-in-law Chastity Barry, and Michele Adamo.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31st, 6:00pm - 9:00pm with Prayer Service at 7:30pm all at Landmark Funeral Home.
