Peter Garceau
October 20, 1961 -March 25, 2023
Peter Garceau died on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Fountain Manor Health and Rehab Center in Aventura, FL at the age of 61.
Peter is survived by his wife, Jane Garceau, his parents Fay and Neil Garceau, his brother Jim Garceau and sister Pam Garceau.
Peter was born on October 20th, 1961 in Grand Rapids MI. He attended the University of Illinois in Urbana IL and graduated with a degree in Marketing. At the University, Peter participated in wheelchair sports including basketball, football, and table tennis among other sports. His teams traveled across the US and also Hawaii. Peter was also involved in the Disabled Students Organization (Delta Sigma Omicron)
After college Peter was a fundraiser for the U of I Foundation, for the Veterinary Medicine Department.
Peter then worked at Micropace selling computer components and software and games, he later worked at American Software also selling in the computer industry.
While in Champaign, Peter and Jane attended New Horizon United Methodist Church and formed many significant lasting friendships.
After moving to South Florida, Peter joined Autotrader, selling advertising and continuing his streak of high achievements, earning many top sales awards. He and Jane lived in a condo near the ocean and enjoyed sightseeing from Key West to Orlando.
Due to ongoing illnesses, Peter went on disability, and was able to help Jane through her MS and cancer diagnoses. Peter and Jane were married 34 years at his death.
Peter was an avid U of Illinois sports fan, holding season tickets to basketball and football for years, and watching every game on tv after moving to Florida.
Peter was a good friend to many, and able to provide help with computers, iPhones and many other areas.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Landmark Funeral Home, located at 4200 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood FL from 10-11:30 am.
