Maria S. Watts, 81 years old, of Royal Palm Beach, passed away August 16, 2024. Maria was born March 31st, 1943 in Charala, Colombia.   In 1962 graduated from Escuela Normal de Señoritas in Pamplona. She became an elementary school teacher in Escuela Antonia Santos in Bucaramanga. She then migrated to NY in 1971 to follow a career in accounting. In 1986, Maria moved to Florida and continued her accounting career while hosting and supporting nieces and nephews who followed the American Dream.
Maria spent her free time traveling and enjoying classic movies, specifically Cowboys films with John Wayne, MASH, Star Trek and Disney; she also loved her romantic boleros, rancheras and dancing.
Loving sister to Juan Laureano Gomez Camacho; dedicated aunt to Enny Cannestro, Patricia Garland, Alexander Gomez, Arturo Ardila, Celina Poy-Wing, Ximena McCutchen, Leonel Gomez, Helena Dearnell, Ivan Gomez, Javier Gomez, Juan Carlos Gomez, Juan Jose Gomez, Luis Ignacio Gomez, Luisa Gomez, Maria Raquel Gomez, Maristella Gomez and Martha Gomez.
Maria was especially close to her great nieces Gianna Cannestro, Isabella Cannestro, Alison Garland and GraceAnn Garland. Rest in Peace Maria.
Visitation will be Monday, August 19 th , 5:00pm – 7:00pm with a prayer service at 6:00pm all at Landmark Funeral Home.

María S. Watts, de 81 años, murió en Royal Palm Beach el 16 de Agosto del 2024; María nació el 31 de Marzo de 1943 en Charalá, Colombia.
En 1962, ella se graduó de la Escuela Normal de Señoritas en Pamplona. Después, Maria trabajó como profesora de primaria en La Escuela Antonia Santos en Bucaramanga. Ella emigró a New York, en 1971 a seguir su carrera de contadora. En 1986, María se estableció en la Florida continuando como contadora y apoyando a sus sobrinos con el sueño Americano.
María disfrutaba viajar por el mundo, ver películas de vaqueros con John Wayne, MASH, Star Trek y Disney; también le gustaban muchísimo los boleros románticos, las rancheras y el baile.
María es amada y recordada por su hermano Juan Laureano Gomez Camacho y sus sobrinos Enny Cannestro, Patricia Garland, Alexander Gomez, Arturo Ardila, Celina Poy-Wing, Ximena McCutchen, Leonel Gomez, Helena Dearnell, Ivan Gomez, Javier Gomez, Juan Carlos Gomez, Juan Jose Gomez, Luis Ignacio Gomez, Luisa Gomez, María Raquel Gomez, Maristella Gomez y Martha Gomez.

Joan Lee Scheidell, 85, of Hollywood passed away June 13, 2025. Survived by sons Mark (Jeanne) Kovacs and Michael (Maria) Kovacs; daughters Suzanne (Joe) Domenech and Denise (Jim) Ordonez; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be private.
