Maurice Collins

December 24, 1937 - July 5, 2022

Maurice “Moose” Collins passed away at his home in Hollywood Florida on July 5th, 2022. Maurice did not have it easy growing up. One of 12 kids and right in the middle, dad had to make his voice heard just to get the basics in life. Growing up, he was on his own, had to figure out how to make ends meet and did not have the luxury of time on his side.
Besides his tough upbringing, he did very well for himself. Made it through high school, served our Country in the US Army, worked hard in the printing trade, got married, started a family, started his own business, all while overcoming the fears and challenges he faced knowing everything rested on his shoulders.
In life dad was kind to everyone he met, always had a place in his heart for the downtrodden and those who were outcasts from society. He was very generous to everyone. He was always willing to help strangers, give gifts to those he worked with and even to those who simply helped him in the smallest of ways.
We will all miss you Dad “Moose”; especially me, your son. I can truly say, you DID possess and embody a Christ-like love – I thank you with all my heart for being a recipient of your great gift – I pray one day we all can possess this kind of love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org
