SAM SCARNECCHIA, 87, of Hollywood, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3, 2022.    Predeceased by his wife Patricia, parents Sam and Mary, brothers Joseph, Ronald and sister Anita, Sam is survived by sons Samuel (Maribel) and Mark (Ann Mary), daughters Diane Scarnecchia (Jim Zimmerman) and Lisa (Robert) Laviano. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren Nicholas (Kayla), Alexis (Jimmy), Anthony (Brittany), Ryan (Chelsea), Sophia (Andrew), Alex and Daniel (Bianca) and 10 great grandchildren Florence, Gabriel, Elijah, Enzo, Madison, Andrew, Natalie, Jack, Charlotte and Olivia. 
Sam received his Bachelor Degree from University of Miami. Was hired at Archbishop Curley High School as a coach and then was hired at Coral Gables High School as a coach. Sam then became the Athletic Director at South Miami High School and later received his Masters Degree from Nova University and became an Assistant Principal. Sam retired from South Miami High School as an Assistant Principal and enjoyed his retirement with his late wife Patti until she passed in 2001. Sam lived for his children and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren. He was a true family man. 
Sam was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 and was also inducted into the Niles McKinley Alumni Hall of Fame in 2001. 
When Sam and Patti moved from Miami to Hollywood in 1993 they joined Nativity Catholic Church and Sam became a member of the Nativity Mens Club where he was very involved as a volunteer and met wonderful friends. 
Sam enjoyed fishing, golfing, bicycling and of course the tailgate parties at the U of M football games. 
The family will be receiving friends for a gathering with a celebration of life service  from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022  at Landmark Funeral Home,  4200 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL, 33021 . Mass of the Resurrection will be held   at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022   at Nativity Catholic Church,  5220 Johnson Street, Hollywood, FL, 33021  and will be live streamed at  www.nativityhollywood.org .

Joan Lee Scheidell, 85, of Hollywood passed away June 13, 2025. Survived by sons Mark (Jeanne) Kovacs and Michael (Maria) Kovacs; daughters Suzanne (Joe) Domenech and Denise (Jim) Ordonez; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be private.
