Peggy Wood

                                                             June 7, 1934 - October 22, 2025

Mildred “Peggy” Wood, 91, formerly of Hollywood, passed away October 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was the beloved wife of Raymond Wood who preceded her in death. She is survived by sons Dennis (Regena) and Raymond (Ivonne); daughters Donna (David), Denise, and Colleen (Ken); brother Martin; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Peggy was born and raised in New York and worked to pay her own tuition at a private parochial high school. She had the gift of administration which she applied mainly in the medical field working for many doctors, including the Chief of Eastern Airlines Medical Department. After earning her associates degree from Miami Dade College at the age of 59, she worked for the University of Miami Chair of Pediatrics.

As a parishioner of Nativity, Peggy realized that the seniors of the parish needed something more to keep them engaged and to have a sense of community. She founded the Nativity Senior Group where she actively planned lunches, field trips, and parties for 100+ parish seniors for many years before moving out of the area. She also enjoyed the gift of serving as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital and at the Museum of Discovery and Science.

Peggy was always ready to lend a hand or help someone in need and never met a stranger. She was a pillar of strength, kindness and love and was always there for her family and friends. She was loved deeply and will be missed immensely.

A Memorial Mass will be held on November 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church Chapel. Inurnment will be on Monday, November 3rd at 9:30 a.m. at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
