It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald William "Ron" Hady who died peacefully at Accent Care Hospice in Hollywood, Florida on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 73. Ron was born to William and Irene Hady in Meyersdale, PA.
Ron is survived by his wife, Hermie, daughter Allison, grandson Alex all from Hollywood, Florida, mother Irene in Grantsville, MD, brother William (Jennifer) Hady in Meyersdale, PA, sister Nancy (Joe) Di Giacinto in Brookfield, WI and other family and friends. Preceded in death by his father William and sister Carol Ann Hady.
A longtime resident of Hollywood, Ron served the City as a volunteer with integrity, professionalism and honor included as an active and dedicated member of the Hollywood Community Emergency Response Team or “CERT” since 2001 most recently as its lead instructor. He was always available when called upon to assist the City, whether it was to teach courses in CPR, emergency response or basic first aid through the local high schools, or to assist Police, Fire Rescue and Emergency Management teams with training and operations. Ron was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and a retiree of the U.S. Marshals Service in 2009 as well as a military veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He previously worked as an EMT in the Meyersdale, PA volunteer fire department, a paramedic with the New Cumberland, PA volunteer fire department as well as a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Ron will be deeply missed as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was a person who led by action and example with strong character, deep integrity and steadfast faith. He is loved very much and will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he was so deeply a part of.
Visitation will be at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, from 3:00pm - 4:30pm with the service beginning at 4:30pm on Saturday, October 21. Interment with military honors will take place at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 25, at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449
