She was born June 27, 1926 in New York City to James and Lillian (Raftis) Dennehy.   She enjoyed the outdoors; she loved plants and flowers. She took horticulture classes at Fairchild Gardens in Miami. She was an avid reader and a talented artist who could capture the true beauty in her paintings.
