Mary Jo DelVecchio (McGarry), was born on December 9, 1960, in Hollywood, Florida. She passed away surrounded by loved ones, on March 26, 2026. She was 65 years old.

Mary Jo went to Dania Elementary and was a graduate of South Broward High School in Hollywood. She enjoyed her time as a student and as a cheerleader. Her spirit was contagious!

Later, Mary Jo dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse. Her career spanned over four decades at Imperial Point Medical Center, where she began as an intern, was a surgical nurse and ultimately served as OR surgical scheduler. She was very proud of the "cases" she participated in. Her unwavering commitment to her profession and the countless lives she touched through her work will be remembered with deep gratitude.

Mary Jo was the devoted and loving mother of Nicholas DelVecchio and the proud future mother-in-law of Kayla Alleman. She shared a special bond with her sisters: Lauran (Phil) Reingardt, Coleen (Rich) Phillips, and Carrie (Brad) Kantor. She also had a special chosen sister: Donna (Mark) Montgomery.

Known affectionately as "Nee Nee," she cherished her nieces and nephews: Garrett (Mckenzie) Reingardt, Jordan (Danny) Osa, Emily Phillips, Cole (Emily) Kantor, and Jason Phillips. As "Super Nee Nee," she delighted in the joy brought by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Riley Osa, Emery Osa, Walker Reingardt, and Chase Kantor. Mary Jo was also a loving cousin and a treasured friend to many.

MaryJo was married to Rodney DelVecchio for 10 years. One of the brightest moments they shared together was bringing Nicholas into the world. Rodney (Rod) and Mary Jo had a great coparenting relationship and remained friends throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Ila McGarry, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life.

Beyond her professional accomplishments and family devotion, Mary Jo found immense joy in creative pursuits. She was an avid scrapbooker who loved attending scrapbooking conventions with her crew. A talented craftsman and photographer, she captured life's beauty through her lens and artistic endeavors. As a self-proclaimed Diamond Dot Diva, she embraced every opportunity to express herself through art. She loved to be frustrated every Sunday during football season by her beloved Miami Dolphins. Mary Jo also had a passion for travel, creating cherished memories on adventures with those closest to her.

Mary Jo's presence brought light into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her warmth, creativity, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.

May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her. A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Landmark Funeral Home - located at 4200 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood.

If you are so inclined, please feel free to dress in her favorite color: purple
