Life Reflection
Celebrating the life and legacy of
Rosleore “Mayou” Genece , age 73, of Port Salut, Haiti. She passed away on Monday March 25, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. She was raised by her loving late Aunt and Uncle Mr. Jean and Mrs. Germaine Mazarin. She was known for her strength, sense of humor, dedication to her family, boundless love, gracious wisdom and her strong faith in God.
Mayou graduated from College de Secretariat Moderne. She worked at HAVA (Haitian Association of Voluntary Agencies) starting as an Executive Secretary and ending her career there as the Director. She departed from this position to cofound a business, Roselore Fashion, where she designed and created custom clothing. In this venture, she also founded a training for women infected with AIDS in a year-long program providing sewing lessons, to support students towards self-employment. She was a person of kindness, and a willingness to help others. Before she became sick she started planning her dream to open an orphanage in Haiti.

She married her high school sweetheart and brother of her best friend, Eddy Genece, on August 3rd, 1974 in Montreal, Canada. They went on and raised five children which she adored and loved with her whole being. She never wavered in supporting her family. She often said “Map bay genoum pou tout piti mwen yo, epi rest la pou Bondye”.  In addition to being a wife and mother she was also a sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. 

Mayou is preceded in death by her husband Eddy Genece; her daughter Jihanne Genece; her mother Dieula Cazeau; her two brothers Gilbert and Vilaire Cazeau; her sister Gayenne Cazeau; She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Miche-Karine Genece and husband, Vladimir Isidore; Marc-Aurel Genece and wife, Fabiola Surena-Genece; Graciella Genece; and Jean-Bertrand Genece; her adopted sons Ashley Nozine and wife Erline, and Ricarl Nozine; her grandchildren Sean, Thea, Benjamin, Sayid and Sedrik; Sister-in-law Lorvana Nozine and husband Joseph, Joseline Saladin and husband Leveque, Mona Genece, her brother-in-law Lyonel Genece and wife Elza; her nieces and nephews; her cousins Beauchamps, Renald and Cazeau family.

Funeral services will be held at Saint Benedict’s Episcopal Church, 7801 NW 5th Street, Plantation, Florida on Saturday, April 13 2024, with Rev. Father Dr. Burnet Richardson Moise officiating.The viewing will be at 7:30AM with the church service at 9:00AM. Burial in Lauderdale Memorial cemetery.

Joan Lee Scheidell, 85, of Hollywood passed away June 13, 2025. Survived by sons Mark (Jeanne) Kovacs and Michael (Maria) Kovacs; daughters Suzanne (Joe) Domenech and Denise (Jim) Ordonez; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be private.
